A PLAY area committee in Norley has thanked a cleaner for washing down facilities in the area free of charge.
Hilltop play area committee put an appeal on social media asking for help giving the children’s facilities a bit of a clean, as they were looking in a sorry state.
And the call was answered by Ryan van Emmenis, of Cleaning Helps, who spent hours of his time bringing the play area back to pristine condition.
Fiona Goodier, treasurer of the committee, said: “We would like to thank Ryan for giving up his time to clean Hilltop play area for free.
“It was a long and tough job, as it hadn’t been cleaned since it was installed more than 10 years ago.
“The Hilltop play area committee rely solely on grants and donations for its upkeep and maintenance.
“Unlike most play areas, it does not come under the control of Norley Parish Council, although they do give us money annually to help with its upkeep.
“We would like to thank Ryan for his work and we are all extremely grateful.”
Ryan, from Winsford, added: “I own a cleaning business in the area and saw a post from the committee on social media asking if anyone would be willing to spare time to clean the park.
“I offered to help in my spare time as I use the park with my children, as do other parents with their children.
“There is nothing worse than having facilities which are not clean, but the play area has come up great with nothing but water and elbow grease.
“Hopefully, it will inspire other people to give a bit of their time to help others.”
