A GRAND launch event has signalled the opening of a new community and activity space in the heart of the town centre.

Hope52, located in the former RAOB Club at 52 Witton Street, had a packed audience for its opening event earlier this month, with those in attendance listening to speeches from guest speakers.

The space is run by Zac’s House Kingdom Community – members of Knutsford Methodist Church who are active in Northwich.

And it is designed to be a place run by the community for the community, where people can visit for a chat or to relax in a quiet space.

“Our new premises in the centre of Northwich has really taken shape and we are very grateful to everyone who has been involved in the design, redecoration and fitting out – it looks fantastic,” said Rev Neal Stanton, pioneer pastor at Zac’s House.

“It has a wonderful, relaxed, welcoming and homely feel, as has been commented on by many who have visited.

“Not only does it provide much needed office space, but also a community space as we continue to engage with those around us.

“We have been well received by our neighbours and locals and it is exciting having a central space in which to work from and engage with our community.”

Hope52 had a packed audience for its grand launch earlier this month

The official launch was opened by Mark Mitchell, the High Sheriff of Cheshire, who gave a speech on the opportunities that Hope52 gives to the Christian community and to the people of Northwich.

Northwich mayor Kevin Rimmer also endorsed the commitment and purpose of Hope52 and encouraged its continued work in Northwich.

Further words were heard from Rev Rob Cotton, superintendent minister of Knutsford Methodist Church, and Rev Stanton, who highlighted the incredible things that have been achieved so far and what is still to come.

Rev Ruth Rice, the founder of Renew52 Wellbeing Cafés which operate from Hope52, also spoke about using the community space for a variety of free hobbies and activities.

Renew hosts and regulars have already been getting creative by deco patching the tables and creating wall art.

The time in between speeches gave attendees the chance to listen to live music from Vicky Royle.

Renew52 Wellbeing Cafés are held every Wednesday morning at Hope52 between 10am and midday, and will resume, once the current coronavirus pandemic passes.
