POLICE have stepped up patrols in Leftwich after receiving reports of suspicious activity.
At around 3.15pm yesterday, Tuesday, a boy was walking along Clifton Drive when a man in a car pulled up alongside him and asked if he wanted a lift.
The boy subsequently ran off and told an adult.
Sergeant Gary Weaver said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish exactly what has taken place and whether anything untoward has occurred.
“As a precautionary measure, we have stepped up patrols in the local area and would urge anyone who sees any suspicious activity to contact police.”
Anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area around the time of the incident should call Cheshire Police on 101, quoting IML 663217.
