OFFICERS arrested a 17-year-old boy last night following reports a mountain bike had been converted to a petrol propelled bike.
Police were called just before 9pm following several calls stating a mountain bike that had been badly converted to being a petrol propelled bike was driving dangerously around the Parr area.
After a short stay in the area, the vehicle appeared on Downland Way and the rider and bike were stopped by officers.
A 17-year-old boy from Parr was arrested for a S47 assault on the officer, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, no insurance, dangerous driving and failure to stop for an officer in uniform.
The bike was seized and disposed of.
