MONDAY sees the opening of ‘Waiting for Gateaux’ at Davenham Theatre.

Presented by the Davenham Players, the comedy comes from the pens of Ed Waugh and Trevor Wood – whose play Dirty Dusting proved a sell-out success two years ago.

Maureen, (Mo), Jackie and Donald form the core membership of Mo-tivators, possibly the world’s most inept health club, where they believe in having your cake and eating it too.

They have had some success along the way – Donald has lost 12 stone in his dogged determination to cling to his dream.

But Mo is clinging on to her club, whilst Jackie just wants to cling on to her husband.

New members are always welcome, but for some reason seem few and far between, until Whitney (who prefers to be known as Raven) and then Sophie from ‘the television’ arrive, and the chance of fame beckons – or does it?

The production runs from Monday, February 24 to Saturday, February 29 – every day except Thursday – with doors and bar open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.

Tickets are £10 from danarts.org or 01606 259596
