POLICE were called to a pub in Farnworth this afternoon following an assault.
Witnesses spotted two police cars and two ambulances outside The Royal, in Albert Road, at around 2pm.
It is understood that a man was injured after an assault at the pub.
The extent of his injuries are not yet known but nobody is believed to have been arrested.
A witness, who saw the emergency services arrive at the scene, said: "There were two police cars and two ambulances there at about 2.15pm.
"They were there for at least an hour."
