A MAN has appeared in court accused of causing death by careless driving of a dad-of-two in motorcycle crash a year ago.
Former policeman Ian Glanister, from Parr, was on his way home from work at Egertons Recovery in Knutsford on Thursday, March 28 when he was involved in the fatal crash.
Ian was riding his motorcycle on Manchester Road when a crash occurred with a car leaving Cottons Hotel at around 6.25pm.
The 29-year-old died at the scene, leaving his wife Leighanne and two daughters Jennifer, six and Megan, nine devastated.
On Monday, 49-year-old Gordon Hyland from Baxton Lane in Knutsford appeared at Stockport Magistrates' Court on one count of causing death by careless driving in relation to the crash.
He will next appear at Chester Crown Court on Monday, March 16.
He was given unconditional bail.
