THE Sir Bobby Charlton Foundation and The Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC), represented by the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority, have formed an agreement to mutually support each other through a spirit of co-operation in their goal to support victims of conflict.

Since 1979 64,849 mine/ERW casualties were recorded by the Cambodia Mine Victim information systems across the country, with 19,779 people killed, 36,024 injured and 9,046 having limbs amputated.

To work together supporting victims of conflict, The Foundation and the RGC signed the Memorandum of Understanding at Booths Park in Knutsford.

The signing was attended by His Excellency Prum Sophkamonkol, Secretary General of Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority, Dan Carden MP, Lou McGrath, CEO at The Sir Bobby Charlton Foundation, Donna Moss-Seymour, head of operations at the Foundation and Rothna Buth, Country Director, Cambodia at the Foundation.

The agreement comes prior to the opening of the Foundation's second humanitarian centre. Lou McGrath said: "This is a momentous occasion for the Foundation. We are proud to have formed an agreement with the Cambodia Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority."
