THE Queens Arms pub on Dene Drive is set for a new and improved beer garden.

Plans have been submitted to Cheshire West and Chester Council to alter the existing garden area, including the removal of decking and the infilling of pit areas.

If approved, the garden area would also be fitted with new rope lighting.

According to a design and access statement submitted by applicant JD Wetherspoon PLC: “The design aims to improve both the accessibility and usability of the garden areas of the building.

Northwich Guardian:

“The removal of the deck will allow for more accessible access to all areas of the garden, as will the infilling of the step areas.

“The garden is in poor condition with the deck currently unsafe to use.

“The proposal will modernise the existing garden areas taking into account the existing design.”

Plans also state that existing entrance doors will remain as they are now with a disabled access ramp.
