ROAD users in Oswestry and surrounding areas are being warned of flooding around the town.

After more heavy rain overnight as Storm Dennis battered north Shropshire, Gobowen Road, between Jasmine Gardens and the A5, remains closed.

But the stretch of the A5 between the Gobowen roundabout and the Gledrid roundabout, towards the Shell and BP petrol stations, are also under heavy water.

People have taken to social media to warn Oswestry's Safer Neighbourhood Team of the floods, and are urging drivers to use the roads sensibly.

Meanwhile, trains through the area have also been cancelled as a result of Storm Dennis, but are expected to be up-and-running by 12noon on Sunday.

*Update*

Travellers through Ellesmere are being warned of large floods in the area.

There are two large floods on the A528 between Ellesmere and Cockshutt and a further two more from Cockshutt to Burlton, making travelling towards Baschurch difficult.
