PARENTS and young children are being invited to join the fun at the new Weaverham Tots group.

The free stay-and-play sessions run every Thursday during term time at Weaverham Pre-school, on Northwich Road.

Children from birth to school age can attend and will have access to an all-weather outdoor play area and messy play space.

And toddlers can also enjoy baking and arts and crafts activities led by fully qualified educators.

All parents and carers are welcome to the sessions, which run from 10-11.15am, with snacks provided for children and hot drinks for parents.

The pre-school first opened at Weaverham Forest Primary, but moved to a new spacious facility in the grounds of Weaverham Primary Academy last year.

Chair of trustees Jenny Marshall, who has run the Ofsted ‘outstanding’ pre-school for over a decade, said: “Moving to our new facility has given us the opportunity to expand our play equipment and make many positive changes.

“Setting up the Weaverham Tots group seemed like a natural progression to further develop our provision for the children of this village.

"Our first few sessions have been very well attended and the response has been fantastic. We couldn't be happier.

“There is a lovely atmosphere and the children are clearly enjoying all the opportunities to play.

“Having spoken to parents, we are now planning to get specialists in to offer support and guidance on things such as potty training, breast feeding and weening.”
