FOR the sixth year, Tenor Martin Toal will present an Evening of Popular Classics at Altrincham Garrick Playhouse at 7.30 on Wednesday, January 29th.
He, himself, will repeat the ever popular Nessum Dorma and Santa Lucia and willl join St Ambrose Prep School’s seven – 11-year olds with a new one, You Raise Me Up.
He said: “I’m also going to sing Anthem from Chess because I like to do something different.”
He will be pleased to introduce soloists 21-year old Olivia Hargreaves and Megan Holland whom he chose from 26 applicants from the Arden School of Musical Theatre.
“Olivia’s voice is more classical but they both sing beautifully,” he said.
Richard Sanderson, last year’s star violinist will return and introduce fellow fiddler Katie Couriel.
Another popular attraction to return will be performers from the June Rendell Academy of Dance to add movement to the music.
The most popular event of all will be the final rousing rendition of The Last Night of the Proms in which audience and performers will sing their hearts out
