POLICE officers have arrested a driver found in possession of 60 snap bags of cannabis destined for the streets of Northwich.
The 31-year-old male was caught following a stop check by officers on Darwin Street in Castle on Friday.
He was arrested for possession with intent to supply, and was also found to have no insurance on his car.
The vehicle has since been seized.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “Following a stop check on a car in Darwin Street on Friday, a 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class B (cannabis).
“He has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.”
A tweet by Northwich Police added: “Benefits of premises search powers shown, as 60 bags turns into a large haul...all bound for the streets of Northwich.”
