EGERTON Pre-school is celebrating receiving £2,673 from the Co-op Local Community Fund.
The news came as pre-school manager Andrea Jackson celebrates 20 years of service.
Andrea said: “Most people don’t realise that because we are a registered charity some of our funding needs to come from these types of sources for our wonderful pre-school to continue to be sustainable.
“We are so grateful to the Co-op Local Community Fund. This will make a huge difference to the pre-school, which as a registered charity relies heavily on fundraising.
“This new round of funding is part of a wider fundraising initiative to extend the pre-school premises by reconfiguring the community room so the children attending and wider community groups can take full advantage of it.
“The community room is currently a multi-purpose room used as a playroom for the children, a staff administration area and a meeting room.”
