JOBS are to be lost at Ingenico after the company announced that its Northwich office is to close.

The firm, which provides technology involved in secure electronic transactions, employs 50 people at its customer contact centre based at Gadbrook Park in Rudheath.

Ingenico say that the decision to close the office was ‘difficult’ and ‘not taken lightly’.

It also added that some employees could be offered the option to relocate to the company’s Dalgety Bay office near Edinburgh.

A spokesperson for Ingenico said: “Ingenico has taken the difficult decision to close its Northwich facility and consolidate the service desk capability into its Dalgety Bay office.

“Work will continue out of the Northwich site until the end of June 2020, when the site will close.

“During this time, we will be actively consulting with all affected employees and some will be offered the option to relocate to Dalgety Bay.

“While we appreciate this will have a local impact, this decision has not been taken lightly.

“We reflected carefully on how to support our business needs and balance improving our service capabilities with the impact on all our UK people.”

They went on to say: “There are 50 staff based at Ingenico’s Northwich facility.

“We cannot comment on numbers of staff who will be relocated at this time as we go through the consultation process.

“This consolidation of our services to Dalgety Bay is part of a wider business transformation programme, but there are no further office closures planned.”
