ASHLEY Nemits put a nightmare six months behind her by picking up right where she left off.
Warrington Athletics Club’s sprinting star retained her under 17s 300m title at the Northern Indoor Championships in Sheffield despite having only run an indoor 200m since returning from injury on January 5.
Nemits was not expected to win but did so by clocking 39.72secs – a season’s best time – in the final after winning her heat and coming second in her semi final.
Another Warrington Athletics Club member to have a superb weekend was Colin Bishop, who now leads the UK 10km rankings in the over 60s age group.
A superb run at Sunday’s Kidsgrove 10k saw him win his age group and place ninth overall in 36mins 37secs.
