PAUL Carden says he will field a strong Warrington Town side for tonight’s Cheshire Senior Cup clash with Sandbach United.

Yellows travel down the M6 to face a side who ply their trade in Division One South of the North West Counties League – three tiers below them in the league pyramid.

Carden has often used this competition and the Integro League Cup to assess several promising options from the FEFA academy set up by former Liverpool and England striker Robbie Fowler, with whom they have an official partnership.

This may be the case again, but several first-team players are also set to feature for Town at Hind Heath Road.

Mitch Duggan and Bohan Dixon have now completed three-match suspensions for their red cards in the pre-Christmas defeat at Morpeth Town and are expected to play.

Dave Raven and Jack Dunn are also likely to play some part as is on-loan Burnley striker Will Harris, who started Saturday’s 1-0 win over Radcliffe.

“We’ll be strong with the team we pick,” Carden said.

“Mitch and Bohan will be back, Shaun Beeley should be about. Dave Raven, Jack Dunn, Dylan Vassallo and Will Harris should feature as well.

“We’ll have a strong 11 because some lads need to play.

“There’s no better way to give me problems than playing in these types of games and playing well.”
