IN 2020 we will be sharing with you the special days of couples from across mid Cheshire, and finding out more about how they celebrated.

Winnington couple Chris and Emma Byrne, both aged 41, tied the knot back in August after meeting through a shared love of running.

WHERE DID YOU MEET?

After meeting one winter night at Northwich Running Club back in 2016 we became the best of friends.

Running together ignited a spark and led to a speedy romance as we notched up the miles.

We realised our feelings for each other in late summer.

WHAT DID YOU THINK WHEN YOU FIRST MET?

We got on well and became running buddies.

We both have a love for travel and nature and share days out in the Lake District and around the Cheshire Countryside.

HOW DID HE PROPOSE?

It was October 2018 in Cuba. Chris and I share a love of wildlife, and Chris pointed out a bird and got me to look.

When I looked around again he was bent on one knee in the middle of two palm trees and a tropical paradise as the sun set.

THE WEDDING:

We were married at Grange Barn in Marbury, Shropshire on August 31 this year. We wanted an informal wedding and surrounded by our family and friends we got our wish.

The day was all about nature and the outdoors. Guests were seated on hay bales and the panoramic views from the barn windows were out of this world.

Northwich Guardian:

The rain unleashed as we said our vows but as we became man and wife the sun came out!

We had 80 guests and we wanted something different, so opted for South African BBQ at lunch and an edible bread bowl filled with curry in the evening.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE MEMORIES OF THE DAY?

Having our photos taken in the fields as the sun set in the beautiful Cheshire Countryside and having all our friends and family witness the commitment we have made to each other.

THE HONEYMOON:

We went to Queensland, Australia and explored the coast. Emma has a brother who lives in Woodford an hour away from Brisbane.

OUR RELATIONSHIP:

We have a shared love of the outdoors, nature and adventure. We like to go on long-distance hikes together.

We have completed the Across Wales Walk which is 50 miles in a day and also the West Highland Way in Scotland which was 100 miles long.

Sharing your special day could not be easier.
