MOTHER-of-two Jue Snell features on the cover of a new calendar promoting diversity in the fashion, beauty and media industry.

Jue, 40, from Alderley Edge, was electrocuted five years ago by plugging in a domestic laptop, causing aggressive Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).

The condition caused severe, debilitating pain 24 hours a day, and after 12 months of living with the condition Jue developed sepsis and had her left arm amputated below the elbow.

She said of the experience: “It has made me into a better person and a better mother, and has given me the confidence to show as many people as I can that tragedy may happen in life but doesn’t have to rule it.”

The 2020 calendar has been produced by the charity Models of Diversity, and money raised from its sales will go towards workshops the charity holds nationally for people with disabilities.

The workshops deal with mental health issues, and encourage students to build confidence, feel beautiful and take the focus away from their disability.

Models of Diversity has campaigned for more diversity in the fashion, beauty and media industry for over a decade, and its first calendar is representing beauty in all areas of society, including size, age, colour and ability.

Jue, who is a Mindset speaker and coach, added: “I am so proud to be working with Models of Diversity on their charity 2020 calendar.

“Please go onto modelsofdiversity.org to check out the incredible work they do. If you want to purchase a calendar all proceeds will be going to the charity to continue its amazing work to represent diversity and equality in the fashion and beauty industry.”

The calendar was shot by renowned vintage photographer Veronika Marx, has a pin-up theme and uses members of the MOD Community who have powerful background stories and have faced adversity.

The women who feature in the calendar include an Asian police officer who was injured in the line of duty and is now in a wheelchair, who has become a motivational speaker.

There is also an ex-model who has suffered from mental health issues since her early 20s and from severe depression, who is now running her own charity and is an advocate for mental health.

The calendar also features a young albino girl who has struggled with bullying, but is now making her mark as a professional model.

The calendar is available through the website modelsofdiversity.org
