A MAN has died after being hit by a car in Hoylake.

Emergency services were called at around 1.55pm on Wednesday, November 27 to the King's Gap roundabout near Market Street following reports a Vauxhall Astra had been involved in a collision with a male cyclist.

The man, 46-year-old Simon Jones, from New Brighton, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Tragically Mr Jones passed away in hospital on December 4.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting police with enquiries.
