BUDDING young baker Erika Davenport enjoyed the sweet taste of success in a school Bake Off competition.
Erika won a year 9 contest at Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School based on the TV series The Great British Bake Off.
She received a copy of the latest book from the series for her Smarty Pinata cake.
The runners-up in the competition were Lily Davenport with her chocolate chip muffins, Lucy Freemantle with her chocolate brownie, Sophie Graham with her pistachio and lemon cake, Louise Smethurst with her chocolate cake and Joseph Barber with his chocolate orange muffins.
A school spokesman said: “Congratulations to Erika for her cake, which looked and tasted amazing, and well done to the runners-up.”
