AN entrepreneurial beautician has been left overwhelmed by support after launching her new-look Davenham salon, inspired by her much-loved grandparents.

Emma Brookes, 30, officially opened Olive Beauty in London Road on Sunday, after 13 years in the profession and nine years working at the salon – previously ProfessionElle Beauty Salon – under long-term owner Glenda Woodcock.

With a helping hand from friends and family, including her DIY maestro dad, Emma opened the doors to clients new and old with a new range of treatments and services.

She said: “Choosing the name was really a no-brainer. My Nanna was called Olive and I adored her. We spent many special times together when we would often play beauticians. I loved her and cared for her so much that I really had to call this new venture after her.

Northwich Guardian:

“Both Nanna Olive and Nanna EO played such a huge part in my life, I’m sad they aren’t here to see what I’m doing today but I’m sure they would be very proud.

“From a very early age I wanted to be a beautician. I enjoyed college immensely and when we had to write our career plan I remember saying that I would be happy working in a beauty salon for the rest of my life but I never thought in a million years that I would ever have my own salon.

“This is a dream come true.”

Emma, who lives in Winnington with partner Marc and two-year-old daughter Poppy, bought the salon from Glenda and is already stocked up on Christmas goodies ready to launch straight into business.

At the launch she thanked friends and family and spoke of the exciting journey ahead.

She said: “It was was absolutely amazing, I’m totally overwhelmed.

“I was expecting just a few friends and family but we were packed out for the whole three hours. It was lovely to see lots of support from our long-term clients and new customers as well.”
