IT may be the off season, but there is plenty to keep the staff at Warrington Wolves busy.

Karl Fitzpatrick explains how the end of 2019 has been and what is still in store before Super League returns in January.

"Our membership has been going very well since we launched and we are already up on where we were at the same stage last year.

"One particularly pleasing thing has been the initiative to give under 7s free membership if they are signed with an amateur club.

"We are trying to inspire the next generation of players and supporters as well. "One big push for the new season is that the club has a new catering partner so we will be looking to improve our hospitality and kiosk offerings.

"Supporters should expect improved food on match days. We know we had issues with queues in the past and we will be looking to address that too.

"Later this month we will launch our new website which is part of our digital strategy and an area we need to improve in.

"There will be better stats, more user friendly content to enjoy as well.

"We have just released Magic Weekend tickets which will see the return of the battle for the Locker Cup again. We will be looking to smash Wigan all over the park at Newcastle in May.

"The feedback from supporters was that Newcastle was a venue they enjoyed. Our supporters were fantastic at Anfield and we will hope to take a record breaking crowd there again after we took the most fans last year.

"We had our first firework display in November which was a success.

"We had just under 5,000 people here to enjoy a fantastic display. There is some work to improve the entertainment but we will look to bring it back next year.

"We launched our new kits with a fashion show which was a bit different but the players involved were fantastic.

"There has been some comments about the red of the Hoover logo on the home shirt in particular.

"However we need to see the bigger picture. This is a massive global brand and it is massive for the club as a whole. There needs to be a little bit of understanding there.

"Wolfie has been on a break but he is back and you can expect to see plenty more of him over the next few weeks.

"You may have seen the video with Sonny Bill Williams and that made the TV news back in New Zealand.

"His signing for Toronto is fantastic for the game.

"My experiences previously with Toronto have not been great - especially the transfer of Joe Westerman.

"However the new chief executive Bob Hunter has a very impressive track record and Sonny Bill Williams is a brilliant acquisition.

"We still have room in the salary cap for another player but it has to be the right player at the right price.

"The Great Britain lads are now back and they will be back in training after Christmas ahead of our pre-season training in Portugal in January.

"We will then have friendlies against Salford and Swinton before the first game on January 30 at Wigan.

"We already play 29 games a year which is too many so we don't want to add to that with more pre-season games.

"With internationals it is almost a 12 month a year game.

"And that is too much for players."
