HARTFORD residents and those thinking of moving to the area are invited to join in the festivities at this year’s Happy Hartford Christmas event.

Now in its fifth year, the event has become a real community celebration, and all proceeds raised will go to St Luke’s Hospice.

Among the festivities will be carols performed by Hartford Primary School and Northwich Pop Choir, a brass band and a visit from Santa himself.

“Christmas is a time for giving and the people of Hartford have certainly given generously,” said Caroline Thompson-Jones, area sales manager for Redrow Homes who has organised the event.

“Residents have helped us raise thousands of pounds for good causes including Hartford Young NSPCC, Chesnut Lodge Specialist School, the Joshua Tree and Meningitis Now.

“This year, we are extending an open invitation to join us for minced pies, mulled wine, hot chocolate, music and more in aid of St Luke’s Hospice.”

Hartford Primary School pupils will be singing carols

Last year St Luke’s helped more than 1,000 people across mid and south Cheshire by offering a range of services including end of life care, carer support and help for patients to return to work.

Andy Bailey, corporate partnerships manager at St Luke’s, added: “We cannot wait to be part of the official start to Christmas in Hartford.

“It is a beautiful place all year round, but the village takes on an extra special air during the festive season. Wrap up nice and warm and come and say hello!”

Happy Hartford Christmas will be held at Redrow’s Hartford Grange between 5pm and 7pm on Thursday, November 28.

In addition to its festive fundraising, Redrow is also sponsoring St Luke’s Christmas tree collection service for a second year running.

Households across the CW1 to CW11 postcode district can register now to have their trees collected by hospice volunteers in early January via charityxmastreecollection.com.
