A SINGING group based in Hartford has scooped second place in a choir festival competition.

The Bostock Singers made the journey to Llandudno to compete against other groups at the North Wales Choral Festival.

Members of the 50-strong group attended the competition alongside their musical director Nicola Howbrigg and accompanist Alison Richards.

And after impressing the judges with their performances of Bridge Over Troubled Water and Seal Lullaby, the singers were awarded second place in the Just for Fun category.

The competition success marks the start of a busy period for The Bostock Singers in the run up to Christmas.

Members will perform a range of festive numbers at Capesthorne Hall this weekend, before appearing at Hartford Victorian Fair on Saturday, November 30.

The Bostock Singers will also have their own Christmas Concert at St John’s Church in Hartford on Tuesday, December 10.

And following a very successful year of fundraising for Joe Daly Appeal, money raised by the group will now be donated to Parkinson's UK.
