THE A49 Warrington Road has reopened after being closed in both directions this afternoon, Friday, following a two-car crash in Acton Bridge.
The collision involving a white Nissan Juke and a silver Mercedes A160 happened shortly before 3pm outside The Riverside pub.
Firefighters from Northwich and Lymm were called to the scene and on arrival, they found two people medically trapped in their vehicles.
Using specialist equipment, the crews were able to release the casualties and they were then passed into the care of paramedics.
One woman was taken to Leighton Hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.
Firefighters were in attendance for over 50 minutes.
Queuing traffic was reported as a result from the Tall Trees Junction of Runcorn Road in Bartington to West Road in Weaverham.
