MOTORISTS can expect delays in Holmes Chapel this weekend due to the transportation of an abnormal load.
This is due to the movement of a new transformer from Stafford to Ellesmere Port Docks.
The transformer, which measures over 5 metres in width, 66 metres in length and 347 tonnes in weight, will leave Stafford on Saturday.
But it is only expected to pass through the town Sunday towards its final destination.
On its journey, the transporter will travel through Stoke-on-Trent, Congleton, Holmes Chapel and Northwich before passing Chester and arriving in Ellesmere Port.
The transformer will be accompanied by police throughout the journey.
