WARRINGTON-based fighter Martin Murray is back in action against big-hitting Bosnian Sladan Janjanin on a bustling #MTKFightNight at Liverpool’s Olympia tomorrow.

With a shot at the EBU European crown in the offing, Murray feels a new lease of life ahead of this fight against a man with 21 knockouts from his 27 wins.

And the five-time world title contender has spelled out why he is feeling in such a positive mood in the twilight of his career, taking on board the advice of his late trainer Oliver Harrison gave him.

Murray said: “I’m finally listening to my body, which was advice late trainer Oliver always used to give me.

“It’s making things easier inside the gym and out of it. I’m doing it all while I still can and I can still train and fight. I’ve never cut corners and if the day comes when I start to, I’ll pack it in immediately.

“Another reason I’m feeling good is that everything now is a bonus. I’m doing it all because I want to do it and not because I feel I have to or feeling I have to impress people. I’m just being me.

“All the stress and expectation is gone. That’s a really good feeling and very liberating.”

The fight is live on ESPN+ in association with Top Rank and on iFL TV worldwide.

On the same bill, former world champion Rocky Fielding, a long-time friend and sparring partner of Murray – returns to action against the dangerous Abdallah Paziwapazi.
