A TRACTOR was used to rescue two cars stranded in three-foot deep flood water in Lach Dennis last night, Thursday.
Two fire engines from Northwich and another from Chester were also called to the scene on Penny's Lane at 9.17pm.
On arrival, crews found two cars which were partially submerged in water measuring three feet in height.
Two people were trapped in one of the vehicles.
Firefighters used wading equipment to reach the vehicle and speak to the occupants.
They were then assisted by a local farmer who used a tractor to help remove the cars from the flooding.
The crews were detained at the incident for approximately one hour.
