THE Sparks completed a 6-4 win over Holmes Chapel’s Victoria Club in week nine of the Mid-Cheshire Table Tennis League.

Unbeaten Ray Worthington was in top form and ably supported by John Perry in the top-flight encounter.

Lemmings fought their way to a 6-4 win over Bears, with Dave Etchells winning all three and Mark Darlington, two, and the two combined to win the doubles.

Raptors had their best win of the season, with Simon Lafferty starring in a 10-0 success at home to Winsford.

Wreckers, with John Jestin playing as sub, romped to an 8-2 win over Manweb, with Jestin and Charlie Ostapski both untroubled by the electricians.

George Abbotts Butchers maintained their lead at the top with a 7-3 win over Hawks.

The battle at the top of Division Two continued, with Cobras in sterling form.

Geoff Mee, Dave Myles and Pete Battison were all unbeaten in a 10-0 win away at bottom-of-the-table Rangers.

Daresbury’s Lab Rats kept up the pressure and are only one point behind after a 9-1 win at Kinetics, whose only point came in a Ciprian Mihalache 3-2 victory over Phil Lingwood.

Elsewhere in the division, Romans won 7-3 away against the junior side Lostock Smashers, for whom Alex Lyons was undefeated.

Vikings had another away win - 6-4 against the Sticklebacks.

Neil McGrath was man-of-the-match, going unbeaten for the Vikings, who came from 4-3 down to complete their victory.
