A POWER CUT which hit the town centre earlier today, Tuesday, has been resolved, with businesses back open.

SP Energy Networks engineers became aware of the issue in Witton Street and the surrounding area shortly before 1pm.

A number of Witton Street stores reported power issues, with Northwich Library among the closures earlier this afternoon.

An SP message to customers said engineers had made their way to the local substation to investigate a possible blown fuse.

A spokesman had said: "We expect the power to be restored by 4pm.

"We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience."
