A NEW studio space designed to showcase Merseyside's creative talent will open its doors in November.

The brainchild of a group of Wirral women, MerseyMade will feature 10 open studios where local artists can create and sell their work through small studios and a retail space.

Based at 98 Paradise Street in Liverpool, MerseyMade will also have a cafe which has been named after the Gordon Smith Seaman's Institute which existed in the building when it was originally built at the end of the 19th century.

The cafe will be run by former Great British Bake Off quarter-finalist Yasmin Limbert.

Director and founder of MerseyMade, Vicky Gawith said: "MerseyMade will give the city a retail space where they can come and buy many wonderful items, handmade by local talent.

"These can be jewellery, artworks, clothing, gin and a lot more in between.

"By supporting MerseyMade, you will know that when you walk through our door and make a purchase, you will be directly helping someone in our local community!"
