NORTHWICH’S Memorial Court is to welcome a Coronation Street star to the town this Christmas.

Katie McGlynn, who is best known for playing Sinead Tinker on the cobbles, will be playing the role of another Tinker in her first acting job since leaving the soap.

A former Waterloo Road actress, McGlynn will take the starring role of Tinker Bell as the popular pantomime Peter Pan comes to the Northwich stage.

And the soap star appears to be looking forward to coming to town for the festive season by tweeting: “Sooo excited to be Tink.”

The 26-year-old has recently finished the filming of her final Corrie scenes, with her character set to die from cancer in the coming weeks.

She is set to follow in the footsteps of previous Tinker Bell actresses including Julia Roberts, Keira Knightley and Rose McIver.

Also performing in the pantomime will be EastEnders actor John Altman, who plays Nasty Nick Cotton in the soap and Northwich favourite Ryan Greaves.

The production is being advertised as a ‘hysterical rollercoaster ride’ through panto-land, chock-a-bloc with musical numbers, comedy sketches, stunning sets, magnificent costumes, phenomenal flying effects and incredible illusions.

Peter Pan will run from Sunday, December 8 through to Friday January 3 at Memorial Court.
