AN award-winning band will help to tackle social isolation among older people when they perform at Memorial Court later this month.
Foden’s Band will be bringing a ‘Salute to Sinatra & the Swing Legends’ to Northwich when they pick up the microphone on Thursday, October 17.
The concert will help to raise funds for Age UK Cheshire’s Creating a Buzz project, which reduces elderly isolation and loneliness through learning to play a musical instrument.
“Most people will feel lonely at some point in their lives and it is a deeply personal experience that, in most cases, will thankfully pass,” said Age UK Cheshire marketing officer Brian Roberts.
“For a growing number of people, particularly those in later life, loneliness can define their lives and have a significant impact on their wellbeing.
“The Creating a Buzz project will provide a wonderful opportunity for older people to be less isolated and learn a new skill from world class musicians.”
Foden’s Band member Darren Lea added: “We are looking forward to working with Age UK Cheshire and helping older people to feel less isolated.
“The Creating a Buzz project allows them to share the great feeling of playing a musical instrument and meet with others to have a good time.”
Tickets for the performance, which will go towards the Creating a Buzz project can be bought via www.brioentertainment.org or by calling 0333 666 3366.
