GET ready to channel your inner superhero or villain as Northwich Comic Con returns this weekend.

Characters from across the continents of Westeros, Essos, and Sothoryos, creatures the Kalos region, heroes from Gotham City and monsters from Monstropolis will be on show at Memorial Court on Saturday.

Now in its third year Northwich Comic Con will welcome one of the ‘little birds’ from George Martin’s hugely successful Game of Thrones, and boasts exhibits celebrating firm favourites such as Batman, Spiderman, Deadpool and Star Wars.

Organiser Steven Howard said: “We’re delighted to be back and we’re bringing some great guests including Annette Hannah star of Game of Thrones and The Worst Witch.”

As in previous years there will be an extensive replica props section which this year will include Batman’s Batpod and ‘Boo’s Door’ from Monsters’ Inc.

There will also be opportunities to get a selfie with costumers and cosplayers such as Hulkbuster, War Machine, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Batman, Deadpool, and Spiderman, as well as characters from the East Midlands Garrison Star Wars costume group, plus Pikachu from Pokémon and Sully from Monsters Inc.

For those who like to shop, there will be stalls selling action figures, comics, artwork, retro games, books, lego, TV memorabilia, collectables, handmade goods and more.

The event sees the return of the Gaming Zone which will feature four virtual reality systems and three multiplayer Playstation 4 setups.

Steve said: “There’s will be something for little kids and big kids alike.

“For Pokémon Go fans we will be loading the Pokéstop all day with assorted lures so there will be lots of Pokémon to catch.

“Our aim is once again to have something for everyone, we want everyone to enjoy the event and to come back again next time.”

Comic Con Northwich runs from 10am to 4pm for those who pre-order tickets online, and 11am to 4pm for those paying on the door.

Steve is also urging parents to check their children’s school bags as there may be a special surprise following a leaflet drop at local schools offering a free child to the event.

Tickets are from skiddle.com and anyone buying a 10am ticket will receive a free A6 collectors’ card which guest Annette Hannah will sign.
