On Saturday and Sunday, September 21 and 22, Glansevern Hall is donating its entrance fees to the National Garden Scheme so you can enjoy stunning autumn colours at the same time as helping nursing and health charities.

Glansevern Hall, on the banks of the River Severn, is set in 25 acres of beautiful parkland with sweeping views over Mid Wales, to the Kerry Hills and the Montgomeryshire County War Memorial.

The gardens are a mixture of formal planting, lawns, a huge lake and many unusual and ancient specimen trees.

Explore the walled garden with separate themed rooms, discover the Victorian Grotto and Rockery dating from around 1840. Follow a lakeside walk past the Island with its Iron Gazebo, a haven for visiting waterfowl, which can include swans, geese, goosanders, pochard and, if you are lucky, our resident kingfishers.

Glansevern Hall Gardens, at Berriew SY21 8AH, are open from 10.30am until 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday 21st and 22nd September. Admission is £7.50

for adults, £3.50 for children; a family ticket (2 adults and 3 children) is £20.

The Potting Shed café, Artisan Gift Shop and Estate Furniture Barn will also be open.

Thanks to the generosity of garden owners, volunteers and visitors, the National Garden Scheme has donated over £58m to charity since 1927. Could you help raise even more funds by opening your garden? To find out more contact the County Organiser, Susan Paynton on 01686 650531.

There are still gardens open in by arrangement in September and October, so, if want a special afternoon out for your club or with a group of friends all you need do is contact the owner and arrange a time for an exclusive visit to one of these gardens.

Hello Nick,

Very sorry I am a bit late with this week .... but I hope not too late to

have this included in next week's county times.

Thank you for your continuing support, especially of Bryncelyn's opening.

It means a lot to Rosemary.

Cheers

Helen
