AN Americana singer-songwriter will bring his stripped-back show to Davenham next month.

Rod Picott, with 10 albums under his belt, will play at Davenham Theatre on Monday night, October 7, as part of an extensive UK and European tour.

‘From Nashville to Northwich’ will feature tracks from his latest album Tell the Trust and Shame the Devil, as well as older favourites from his extensive back catalogue.

Described as ‘mesmerising’ and ‘a ringmaster at turning misery into art’, Rod dropped his tool belt 17 years ago to pick up an acoustic guitar and release his first album.

The acclaimed debut, Tiger Tom Dixon’s Blues, put a nail in the coffin on his construction career.

The intimate new album constitutes only vocals, guitar, and harmonica, with the Davenham show set up to reflect this.

Rod will also recite some of his poetry as featured in his recently published books God in His Slippers and Murmuration.

Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start. Advance tickets are £10, rising to £15 on the door. Call or text Andrew on 07510853589 to book or see danarts.org/events/rod-picott-in-concert
