Mr Woods said: “I would like to offer my sincere congratulations to the class of 2019 and the team of dedicated staff and supportive parents and carers who have guided them through the last five years.

“Together they have shown continued ambition, enthusiasm and positive determination – they are to be complimented for all they do to make St Nicholas the wonderful community that it is.”

Eighty four per cent of St Nicholas students achieved a grade 9 to 4 in English compared with 62 per cent of students nationally, while 77 per cent gained grades 9 to 4 in maths compared to 59.6 per cent across the country.

“All the teachers have been brilliant and it’s just a nice place to be, so I’m very happy to be here for another two years for A-levels.”
