THREE Cransley School students have achieved the very best grades across all nine of their GCSEs.

Charlotte Hogg, Jessica Halliwell and Olivia Jones all gained 7s, 8s and 9s across the board.

This year is the first time all GCSE results have been graded numerically, with 7, 8 and 9 representing A* and A grades.

Charlotte, four 9s, two 8s and three 7s, said: "I am so relieved, these grades have laid the foundation for my future studies."

Jessica, two 9s, thres 8s and four 7s, added: "I am very, very happy. All the preparation and hard work has now paid off."

Olivia, five 8s and four 7s, said: "I am shocked but overjoyed"

Pupils at the school in Great Budworth are celebrating their best ever GCSE results with a 87 per cent of pupils achieving five or more 9-4 grades, far exceeding the national average of 67 per cent.

Students achieved an 84 per cent pass rate (9-4) in English and maths, despite tougher exam courses and a new grading system.

Headmaster Richard Pollock said: "At a time when large high schools are bursting at the seams with little or no money to invest, parents have to consider independent education in smaller settings to give their children the very best environment for learning. Our results today demonstrate that.

"These results are a consequence of the commitment and outstanding work ethic of our pupils under the expertise and high calibre of Cransley staff.

"These outstanding young ladies, and their patient parents, deserve our congratulations. I have no doubt as to their future success.”

An open day takes place on September 21 at 10am.
