REDUCED speed limits have been proposed on a crash hotspot linking Northwich, Winsford and Middlewich.

Bostock Road – currently subject to the national speed limit but the location for a number of crashes in recent years – could become subject to 50mph and 40mph speed limits, along with Bell Lane and parts of London Road.

The Cheshire West and Chester Council Highways traffic order will now undergo a statutory public consultation, with representations welcome until Thursday, September 12.

The 50mph limit would come into force in London Road, from a point 655 metres north of Bostock Road to its junction with Bostock Road.

Bostock Road from its London Road junction to where it meets the A54 will also be affected, as well as the full extent of Bell Lane.

A 40mph limit would cover Bostock Road from its junction with the A533 to a point 655 metres north of its London Road junction, as well as Bostock Road between its London Road and Road One junctions.
