WITH the end of the summer holidays fast approaching, time is running out to fit in some quality time with the kids.

For those still looking for ways to entertain little ones, a number of fun activities are still available at the award-winning Lion Salt Works Museum in Marston.

As well as the planned activities, the museum also offers interactive displays about the story of salt and its impact on the landscape, people and industries of Cheshire.

Starting on Tuesday and Wednesday next week, August 20-21, young visitors will have the chance to enjoy craft activities based around what a journey into space would be like.

This is in partnership with the Summer Reading Partnership, which is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the moon landings.

The following Tuesday and Wednesday will see more craft opportunities, with youngsters being able to design and make a colourful stained-glass window, but with a twist on traditional materials.

Both drop in events are suitable for children aged up to 11, with two sessions running from 10.30am to 1pm and between 2pm and 4.30pm.

Visitors do not have to pay to explore the museum or to park their car, but participation in the events costs £2 per child.

The museum also has an imaginatively-themed play area as well as a café and gift shop.
