PATIENTS at Witton Street Surgery and Danebridge Medical Centre will be among the first in the UK to access a new repeat prescription app.

Co-op has launched its Co-op Health app – the first in a series of digital developments currently available in some regions across England.

Northwich patients at paired surgeries will be able to manage their repeat prescriptions through the app, with GP booking and medical records access to be added later this year.

They can choose to have their medication delivered directly from the Lea Green depot to their home or work, or to have their medication dispensed by and collected from any other pharmacy in England.

Tim Davies, managing director of Co-op Health, said: “Our new offer will give customers in Northwich a range of ways to get hold of their medication, with the knowledge that the service is being provided by a brand they know and can trust, in a way that best suits them.’’

The Co-op will also be trialling a UK-first click and collect locker in the coming weeks, featuring PIN-protected lockers within Co-op’s food stores.

Later this year people will also be able to book and manage their GP appointments via the app, helping to free up thousands of GP practices across England and free up time from booking appointments over the phone.
