POLICE have seized control of an address in Northwich town centre, following 'months of reports of anti-social behaviour. 

Northwich Police seized the property today and evicted the occupier.

It will now remain in the control of the police for three months. 

In a statement today, Northwich Police said this sends out a 'strong message' to anti-social residents in the town. 

A spokesman for Northwich Police said: "Following months of reports of anti-social behaviour in and around an address in Northwich Town Centre, officers from the Northwich Beat Management Team have successfully seized control of the property under anti- social behaviour legislation.

"The occupier has been required to leave the premises and the address has been secured and will remain in the control of the Police for period of three months.

"Cheshire Police are sending out a strong message that any persons involved in persistent anti-social behaviour or criminal activity run the very real risk of losing their homes and that Cheshire Police will not tolerate such behaviour."
