WIRRAL charity Autism Together's summer activity club opens next week.

Taking place in The House at Woodchurch Road Primary School in Oxton, the sessions will run twice a week from this Tuesday (July 23) until Wednesday, August 28.

The sessions are open to children and young adults with a diagnosed autism spectrum condition or those with social and communication difficulties as their primary need.

Aimed at 8 to 18 year olds, activities will include everything from board games and video games, arts and crafts and sensory tactile play.

Phil Hatton, from Autism Together, said: "Our weekly Activity Club, which runs throughout the school term, has been a great hit with children and parents alike, so we thought it made sense to start new summer sessions.

"The holidays will fly by as we invite children to enjoy sessions with us every Tuesday and Wednesday during the school break.

"We can accommodate up to 12 children per session, so do book on in advance to avoid disappointment.”

Tuesday morning activity sessions (10am-12pm) are for those aged 8-13 years and afternoon activity sessions (1-3pm) for those aged 14-18.

Wednesday morning activity sessions (10am-12pm) are suitable for 8 to 18 year-olds, while the afternoon session (1-3pm) is a Teen Befriending Group, designed for teenagers 14-18 years.

Admission is £7.50 per session, per child.
