FRYER’S Roses launched a new rose in memory of BBC presenter Dianne Oxberry at the RHS show.

Dianne was one of the BBC’s longest-serving presenters, and died from ovarian cancer in January.

With the aid of friends and family, her husband Ian Hindle founded the Dianne Oxberry Trust to raise symptom awareness, funds for research and hope for families affected by ovarian cancer.

Diane’s colleagues wanted to create a Sunshine Garden in her memory, and at the heart of it, a specially-grown rose to honour Dianne, launched by Fryer’s Roses, part of the Blue Diamond Group of Garden Centres.

The rose was named Florida Sunset by Ian after a favourite holiday destination for the family, and for every Florida Sunset rose sold through Blue Diamond Garden Centres and Fryer’s Roses online £1 will be donated to the Dianne Oxberry Trust.

The rose was unveiled at the Sunshine Garden, an event which began with a song from a children’s choir.

Jill Kerr from Fryer’s said: “We were delighted to be able to take this opportunity to honour Dianne’s memory.”
