CARERS at a Northwich company team have got wet and muddy in the name of charity this month.

The team at Home Instead Senior Care took part in Delamere Mud Warrior 2019 on July 6, before taking to the water in the Northwich River Festival Dragon Boat race a week later.

Wayne Harper, who manages the Northwich office of the at-home care company, joined 13 members of his team for the five-mile Delamere run – raising more than £400 for the Alzheimer’s Society in the process.

Wayne said: "I am so proud of the team for completing the Delamere Mud Warrior 2019 – five miles through the forest, battling muddy swamps and rough terrain, literally up to their armpits in mud. Well done everyone, and thanks to the marshals and stewards along the way.”

But the mud didn’t stop the team from another fundraising opportunity on Saturday, July 13 at Northwich River Festival.

The Home Instead team jumped into their Dragon Boat and raced between Town Bridge and the Odeon.

Wayne said taking part was 'a great way to support such a fantastic community event.’
