KNUTSFORD Lions Club has raised £207 by converting a large quantity of foreign and defunct notes and coins.
Club president Peter Willgoose said: “Many thanks to everyone who donated these.
“Unwanted foreign coins and notes are often difficult, if not impossible, to exchange by individuals.
“But by dealing in bulk the Lions are able to arrange exchange, and then make good use of the proceeds by helping people in need in the local community.
“If any readers have any foreign notes or coins they do not want, or any UK or overseas currency that is now defunct, these can be handed to any Lion member or deposited in envelopes or bags at Knutsford Heritage Centre to await collection.”
