PARENTS, staff and friends had a ball to raise vital funds for Peover Superior Primary School.

The black tie event was held at Cottons Hotel and Spa, and included a raffle, bongo bingo, The Covertones band and dancing until late.

Headteacher Lisa Hesmondhalgh said: “Janna Whitworth and Victoria Johnson, chairmen of the school’s PTA, ensured the evening was an amazing success and raised thousands of pounds for school funds.

“The school plans to spend some of the money on updating laptops and Ipads, as well as a new sound system for the hall.

“The ball was such a success parents want to see it become an annual event in the school’s fundraising calendar.”

Janna and Victoria said: “We cannot thank our wonderful and supportive headteacher, teachers, PTA, parents and friends of the school enough.

“We have more than £8,000 in the PTA account, which, considering we are such a tiny school, is amazing.

“We have several more events in the pipeline for the rest of the year, and hope to raise much more for the school.

“Peover Superior needs some building work due to it moving to four classes from three, which is a huge financial cost, but we are hoping that with fundraising from the PTA and potential sponsors our school will be even more brilliant.

“We would like to thank the following companies for their generosity and for making our raffle such a success; The Fox and Hounds Sproston, Bells Of Peover, Plumleys Garden Centre, Karina Rosanne Barrett, NU Aesthetics, ITV, The Three Greyhounds, Gusto, Piccolinos, The Lambing Shed, The Botanist, April’s Kitchen, Cottons Hotel and Spa, Lowes Farm Shop, Grasslands Nursery, Treetops Nursery, The Egerton Arms, Box Clever Hampers, The Crafting Corner, Abbeywood Estate, Boons Butchers, Milly Peel Lashes, Nika’s Cakes, Lucy Heald Beauty, Bronte Pennells Beauty and Fiona Taylor Personal Training.”
