THE Weaverham Rose Fete took place over the weekend and delivered a fun filled afternoon for everyone who attended.

The new rose queen, Leah Ashbrook, was crowned with her retinue including Kyla Hart and Daisy Roberts as train bearers, Chloe Longden as bouquet bearer, Luis Purslow as prince consort, Kiera Hart as crown bearer and Tyler Large as sword bearer.

Weaverham Junior Queen for 2019 was Gracie Hunter, who was accompanied by her attendant Lily Pacey.

Also involved in the parade was the Fairy Queen, Chloe Fischer, with Lucie Brearley, Darcey Large and Lucy Walters as her accompanying fairies.

Weaverham Princess 2019 is Megan Rutter accompanied by attendant Lileah Richardson This year’s rose bud is Violet Mae Williams and her attendants are Poppy Crawford, Eva Louise and Chloe Fisher.

Bobby Powell was named little king and Aimee Darby was named little queen.

The parade started at Lake House Field on Saturday, July 13 and included a variety of stalls and games for visitors.

Barbara Eames, chair of the rose fete committee said: “Thanks particularly to Cllr Gillian Edwards for opening the fete and a thanks to all those that helped make it a great day by helping over the year.”
