A SERIAL offender has been jailed after a homeless man was attacked by a gang in the town centre.
The homeless victim was kicked and punched by a group of attackers while he was lying in a shopfront on Bridge Street shortly after 5am on Monday, June 24.
Lee Cayzer, from Orford, and Michelle Beddall, from the town centre, admitted affray in connection with the incident at Warrington Magistrates Court on Tuesday, July 9.
Cayzer, of Cabul Close, was handed 18 weeks behind bars – having also admitted failing to leave an area when directed to do so by police, failing to surrender to bail and breaching supervision requirements.
Magistrates found that the 50-year-old’s offending was ‘aggravated by his previous record of convictions’.
He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115.
But Beddall, of Bold Street, walked free from court.
